Summer of Rest 30 June 2019 // Rest as Yieldedness

This summer, we’re going on a journey to discover what rest truly means. We’re going to strip away a lot of the busy-ness of modern life and learn to enjoy simply BEING with God. We won’t be gathering as a large group for corporate worship during this time. However, follow along with us and join us for small group gatherings / online devotions!

30 June: Rest as yieldedness

7 July: Rest as a dwelling place

14 July: Rest as a promise

21 July: Rest as security/assurance

"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” -John 15:15

This week, we will look at Rest as the process of yielding ourselves to God’s spirit. In your group(s), follow along in these steps:

  1. Open in prayer, asking God to speak to you through His word and each other

  2. Follow up from last week, asking about how each person is doing in removing busy-ness and embracing stillness with God

  3. Read the following: All of Romans 12

  4. Watch this video

5. Share your take aways from the reading and message.

6. What are some practical ways you can YIELD to God’s spirit in your life and find rest as a result? **Write them down and share with the group

7. Pray for one another each day this week!
